How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
we had to start by using the internet for the initial research on genre and too help us get ideas on what the story line will be, we also used television to watch movies and television programs to also help to decide on a story line, we also used the internet to find out what exactly our trailer needed to include to appeal to the target audience, and what the repertoire of elements of a action thriller movie is. While planning and filming the trailer we had to use the internet as contact between the group along with mobile phones and face book, to make sure that everybody knew where and when they had to be at the site ready for filming, for the filming itself we used a mini dv camera and tripod, along with a dolly for moving shots, for editing we used a pc with edius pro editing software, and edius audio, when we finish filming we then started having to edit, the first step was to capture all the clips we wanted to use by playing the film back, we then had to start cut the clips adding titles and piecing them all together to make a start on producing the finished film, after capturing the clips we placed them all on the time line and started too trim all of the clips and make them the right lengths, we then started adding titles and music too the timeline, we played the movie back on a tv which was connected too the computer, we played the movie back to people that we asked for feedback, and asked them to tell us what they liked and disliked about the movie we contact them using mobile phones and email.
What have you learned from your audience feedback?
from our audience feedback we have gained almost all positive feedback, saying that they think our trailer is of a good standard, but we have also receive some feedback which we found helpful in the production of our trailer, and all of the comments we had got was taken into consideration and used to improve our product, most of the comments involved ways we could improve shots, editing and sound, causing us to try many different songs before we actually settle with the one being used currently, many of the shots were average shots found in most movies made currently, so we change the camera angles to make them look like all images were recorded using strategically placed CCTV cameras, but all in all we do believe that our trailer meets all the needs of the user, and meets all the specifications they gave to us to make our trailer better.
The genre of our film is action thriller, our target audience is people between the age of 16—50, throughout our search we have found out various statistics about what age people go too the cinema, what financial background they are from and their educational background from which the best statistics were found from www.valmorgan.com.au, we found that the older people get the less they go to the cinema, the most people being aged 14-17.
We aim to make our film suitable for all ages 16-50 and for any type of person, whether they be in school university or college, working or retired, from any financial background.
